The series, “Diaphanous Visions” depicts strategic moments in my life. The images are culled from my childhood, physical incidents and psychological moments that serve as stepping stones to the formation of individuality.
Delving into my childhood memories, I found that my recollections were often ambiguous, blurring the line between reality and imagination. Confronting the enigma of self, I question the validity of identity, as the foundation on which it is built is ever mutating through the reconstruction of memory and the influence of outside factors.
Within this imagery I begin to deconstruct the tenets of childhood by exploring the psychological themes of growing up such as fear, solitude and desire.
